Life can get complicated.
All too often, the big things like anxiety, depression, addictions, or conflicts at school or with family, can get the best of young people.
Everyone struggles at times and youth need a place to go where they can receive safe, non-judgmental care, information and resources.
Young people who don’t know where to go often resort to walk-in clinics, their local emergency departments or worse - go nowhere and suffer in silence.
When help is hard to find, youth languish, and hope begins to fade.
But help is here, with Foundry Langley
Foundry Langley works to reach young people earlier – before health challenges become problematic.
Foundry Langley offers young people 12-24 offers free, confidential access to mental health and substance use support, peer support and social services, and soon primary care as well.
It’s a place where they can learn new skills, find help with a job search and take refuge in comfort and confidentiality.
It’s a place where young people have a voice in their care and where they can find support from people their own age. People who’ve been where they are, know what they’re up against, and know the way out.
Foundry doesn’t just take care of the youth. Anyone in need of help navigating challenging issues that youth deal with is welcome at Foundry Langley.
Because everyone deserves options and support.

The Need Continues: Vision for Foundry’s Future
In July 2022, Foundry Langley opened its doors to youth age 12-24 and to a community of adults looking to support youth in their life.
And just in time.
A 2018 BC Adolescent Health Fraser South survey revealed that 47 per cent of students surveyed said they needed mental health services but, frustrated by bureaucracy, they were likely to abandon the search for help altogether.
Coupled with the mental health impact of the disruptions of COVID-19 pandemic, these numbers caused great concern among Langley’s medical staff and support workers and drove a partnership that led to Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation’s involvement in fundraising for Foundry Langley.
Within the first three months of operation, Foundry Langley already served more than 200 young people and their family members.
Foundry Langley recorded 118 visits for mental health services, and 62 young people found options through peer support programs.
Many young people drop in for cooking, life skills training, and assistance in their search for work or a safe place to live.
Building capacity to keep up with demand
As more youth learn of the services available, and as families are attracted to the region, more young people need a place where they’ll be heard and valued.
A gift to Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Foundry fund can keep these programs going.
Support from donors built Foundry Langley, and now donors can help the centre meet its next goals: supporting youth with new programs, evolving services and expanding available resources to help Foundry Langley continue to meet the needs of youth in the years to come.
Every gift to the Foundry fund will continue to drive Foundry Langley forward — and the next generation will be the better for it.
“Langley needs Foundry because it’s where youth can feel comfortable before they need help” says Nick Nuraney, a Foundry Langley donor.
“Foundry Langley is a start.”
