COVID-19 Staff Support

VTEA Recreational Therapeutic Equine Experience for Front Line Heroes

Valley Therapeutic has created the Front Line Heroes Program, a recreational therapeutic equine experience that aims to provide relief to front line workers from the mental stress and anxiety they experience working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of equine therapy is to enhance the quality of life for riders by improving their physical, mental, and emotional well being with the help of highly trained, empathetic therapy horses. These equine assisted activities can play a significant role in alleviating stress, anxiety and depression relating to trauma.

This one-hour session with one of our therapy horses, and under the guidance of a CanTRA certified instructor, will work on stress and anxiety reduction using breathing and mindfulness techniques as well as stretching exercises to release tension

Ready to register for your Front Line Hero Equine Experience? There are 40 donated spots available!

Access to Accommodations

Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation has worked hard with local donors and hotels to secure options for LMH staff who are unable or unwilling to stay at home between shifts.

If you are a Fraser Health employee and you currently are experiencing anxiety around returning home between shifts, or are immunocompromised themselves or living with a family member that is,  and you are working in an area at great risk of coming into contact with COVID-19 positive patients, please fill out this form and send to info@lmhfoundation.com to see if you may be eligible for temporary, free access to alternative accommodations.
