CCI Mental Health Society in Support of Langley’s Foundry Initiative

This past June the company sponsored the second annual CCI Mental Health Society Golf Tournament in support of mental health. The organizers pledged that they would see $500,000 raised for mental health this year, with $100,000 pledged to Foundry Langley and the remainder supporting other worthy societies in BC.

The Foundry Langley initiative to provide young people aged 12-24 access to mental health services is well aligned to the objectives of the CCI Mental Health Society.

The CCI Mental Health Society was envisioned by the founders of the CCI Family Group of Companies (CCI).

Sangha and Chohan Family, through CCI Group, is well known throughout BC for their construction businesses and impact in this important economic sector. As an extended family, employer and active participant in industry, the founders recognized mental health is an issue that is often stigmatized and hence can go unseen and unspoken.

Garry Sangha, CEO of CCI, along with his father Ajit and brother-in-law Kuldeep, says the family built CCI to be a leader in the industry.

“We see all those that work for the company as family. A tragedy within our own family forced us to recognize the hidden perils that can arise when people with mental health challenges are not helped,” says Sangha.

Kuldeep Singh Chohan, the Chief Operating Officer COO of CCI, concurs.

“When families work closely together, they have to share in the good and the bad. It is important for people in our communities to trust that they can talk freely about what is affecting them personally without judgment or repercussions.

“By founding the CCI Mental Health Society, we have made it very clear that we intend to fully support those that come forward asking for help. And when we see the signs, we will be proactive in our help”.
