We need your help to fund an important piece of equipment that will help frontline health care workers in the fight against COVID-19!
An ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) robot can deep clean and disinfect surfaces in the hospital to kill pathogens, including the virus that causes COVID-19.
How Ultraviolet Kills
The robot, used in patient areas such as the Intensive Care Unit as well as general medical and surgical units and the hospital’s long-term care facility, works by emitting concentrated ultraviolet light to kill COVID-19 and other microorganisms that may linger on surfaces.
“The UVGI robot adds an additional tool to the good work our staff and cleaners do every day to keep our patients safe,” says Petra Welsh, Infection Prevention and Control Director, Strategy and Performance, Fraser Health.
Hear right from a clinical operations manager at Langley Memorial Hospital why a robot is a safe and important took to help keep patients and frontline staff safe during - and beyond - the COVID-19 pandemic.
Keeping you safe is our priority.
Your support will allow our care teams keep the hospital clean and provide a safe environment for health care staff and their patients.
Simply put, it's the quality of care our community deserves.
Through your support, we can acquire this deep cleaning robot to help staff find and disinfect “hot spots” in the hospital, and help kill pathogens like the virus that causes COVID-19.
