Owners of McDonald’s Langley City, Sophie and Rob Renaud, are opening their hearts and their restaurant this Tuesday to raise funds in support of the GivingTuesday initiative and Langley Memorial Hospital.

“Our company is centred around the pillar of giving back to the community,” says Rob. “When businesses support local needs it makes a community stronger.”

Sophie couldn’t agree more, and this strong philosophy of giving back is one of the things she loves most about Langley. “This is a community that lives for giving back. Langley people really put Langley first –it’s really refreshing to see.”

It’s also the reason she and her staff crew are so excited to take part in GivingTuesday, a national day of promoting philanthropy through volunteering, donating and advocating for the causes you care most about.

Activities on site at their McDonald’s restaurant that day will include spin-the-wheel by donation with great prizes that include free coffee, 2-for-1 sandwich coupons and free happy meals. All donations made will support Emergency Response, the campaign to build a new Emergency Department and MRI Suite at Langley Memorial.

“Whether it’s through McHappy Days or by supporting the Emergency Department fundraising campaign through GivingTuesday, we want to invest by volunteering and giving back right here at home to honour the great charitable spirit we see every day in our customers and staff,” says Sophie. “McDonald’s is a big brand and we have the opportunity to work as a role model for society, and use our name to help get others excited and involved in the movement.”

“We invite everyone to come on in – grab your food, a coffee - and give a little to a great cause. It doesn’t have to be a big gift; when we work together we can build to big changes, one dollar at a time.”

Visit the McDonald’s at 19780 Fraser Highway on Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. to join the team in supporting Langley Memorial Hospital and GivingTuesday.
