Expect some news about Langley's new Emergency Department on May 28.

In March 2017 the Foundation and Fraser Health announced the plans to build a new emergency department by 2020, with Fraser Health contributing $20.06 million towards this project, and Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation committing to an $11 million campaign.

The new emergency department will more than tripling the existing 870-square-feet of space, provide 49 treatment spaces (up from 31),  separate treatment spaces for children and for mental health and substance use patients.

“Last year, we saw more than 46,000 visits to Langley Memorial Hospital’s emergency department, and we know that this number will continue to grow as the population grows,” Jason Cook, executive director of Langley Memorial Hospital, said at the time of the official announcement in 2017.

Be sure to watch out on May 28, 2018 for Foundation announcements.
