Langley cares.

That’s the message that a special group of loyal donors celebrated at the annual Donor Tea hosted by  Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation.

These special donors make a tremendous impact over time through regular contributions that are monthly, annually or through a gift declared in their will.

“I look forward to our annual Donor Tea,” says Executive Director Vivian Smith.  “It’s our opportunity to see and celebrate some of our most loyal and dedicated supporters while illustrating how important they are to the Foundation, Langley Memorial Hospital, and the community members who rely on the hospital services.”

The Foundation recently held the Tea at Murrayville Hall on July 2.  Guests enjoyed a short presentation on the new MRI by Dr. Xing Wong and a luncheon through the generous support of Chartwell Langley Gardens and Renaissance Retirement Residences.

Special tributes were made to donors achieving five-, 10-, and 20-year giving milestones, as well as those who have joined the Dr. Benjamin B. Barr Legacy Circle through a gift in their Will.

“It is only through this loyalty and dedication that we are able to fulfill our commitment to provide the urgent equipment, education and capital funding required to provide exceptional health care that will sustain and enrich Langley,” Smith explained. “We couldn’t do it without you and we are so grateful to have such kind and generous spirits in our community.”

Examples of equipment and programs purchased this year, thanks to donor support, include: a CADD pump so patients can self-administer medication as necessary; an infant ventilator; a bariatric maternity bed; a breast milk freezer; a Myosure hysteroscope; a defibrillator for the Cardiac Care Unit and staff education grants to assist caregivers in advancing their experience and expertise, improving patient care.
