Since 1985, Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation has been working to enhance health care in Langley.
VISION: By understanding and responding to the current and future health care needs in the Langley region, the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation provides funding and support for the health care delivered at Langley Memorial Hospital and in the community.

BOARD DIRECTOR JOB SUMMARY: As leaders of the Foundation, our volunteer Directors are responsible for governance, the strategic direction, and financial sustainability of the Foundation. As ambassadors for the Foundation, Directors will make meaningful connections and build relationships to engage the largest number of citizens, organizations and businesses as supporters of the Foundation. As advocates, Directors will ensure that Langley’s health care needs are at the forefront of hearts and minds of the people that live, work, and play in Langley.
Our Board includes members from many different disciplines including finance, development, accounting, human resources, marketing, government relations, law, business, and health care.
Prospective candidates are passionate about issues that affect our community's quality of life and are willing to commit time, energy and advocacy power to further the Foundation's mission to supporting local health care. Those applying should be prepared to attend six board meetings annually and join a minimum of one committee of the Board. Time commitment is 3 to 7 hours per month. Directors are appointed for a three-year term.
We invite applications from strategic-thinking leaders who reside in the Langley region and are interested in using their expertise to make a difference in the health and wellbeing of our community. Preference will be given to applicants with governance, business finance and government relations expertise.

- High ethical standards and integrity in professional and personal dealing.
- Able to discuss controversial issues with diplomacy and tact, encouraging positive dialogue.
- Seize opportunities to add value to the team while remaining receptive and willing to consider others’ view.
- No personal conflict of interest that would jeopardize the organization's reputation and work.
- Able to carry out the responsibilities and time commitment of the role.
- Commitment to continuous learning about Langley Memorial Hospital and Health Services, and community-based health care needs in Langley.
- Commitment to the goals of the Foundation.
