The holiday season is an important time to reconnect with our loved ones. After a challenging year, it’s a wonderful chance to celebrate together and show great appreciation for all we have.

At Langley Memorial however, celebrations are harder to come by.

Over the year, hospital caregivers gave more of their time and energy than ever before. They risked their own safety to provide life-saving care during the pandemic.

This holiday season, health care workers will be taking on more shifts to help shorten pandemic wait lists and spend more time away from their families, risking exhaustion and burnout.

"The past year has been difficult for everyone," reflects Dr. Navneet Sidhu, an internal medicine specialist at the hospital and board member with the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation. "People are just exhausted."

While the number of COVID patients has ebbed and flowed, earlier restrictions mean medical teams are now  seeing more patients in need of care, and those patients are often sicker because they've had to wait, Dr. Sidhu adds. "We are all in medicine to help," she says, "but it really makes you feel good when there's a thank-you – the 'thank-yous' keep you going when you're exhausted."

They need your support and thanks now more than ever.

The best way you can show your support of our health care workers is to give them the equipment they need to carry out their work the best way they can.

We have good news: an anonymous donor will match your donation, dollar-for-dollar up to $55,000!

Your donation, be it $25, $100, $1,000 or whatever you can afford will be doubled, thanks to our matching donor.  No donation is too small.

>> Have your gift matched now.

When every dollar is doubled, your impact on community health is magnified twice over and will be put straight to work ensuring caregivers have the tools they need to diagnose and treat patients efficiently, so patients can return home to their families faster, and in good health.

Your gift today will have twice the impact and you’ll receive a tax receipt for the 2021 tax year. Thank you in advance for anything you can give today.
