Summary of Role:
- Take the lead in one or more fundraising areas; provide support in other areas as necessary
- Develop and execute annual giving fundraising plans including budgets and timelines
- Maintain detailed records in Raiser’s Edge of all donor contacts, history and moves management
RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Mail
- Collaborate with the manager of communications in the scheduling and development of direct mail appeals
- Maintain relations and steward the direct mail donors, monitoring trends in their giving and retention, attrition and acquisition rates
- Identify prospective major and planned gift donors, and bring the names forward to the appropriate members of the donor relations team
Monthly Giving
- Design, build and grow a monthly giving program: solicitation, upgrade and renewal as well as stewardship
Tribute Giving
- Create and execute a plan to grow Tribute, Grateful Patient and In-Memory giving
Community Giving
- Liaise with, prepare proposals for and steward local community groups and service clubs
- Coordinate Giving Tuesday initiatives and steward community partnerships
LMH/LHS Staff Engagement
- Design and implement a successful staff giving program
- Coordinate staff engagement activities and the ‘Friends of the Foundation’ award
- Oversee the hospital staff 50/50 lottery
- Manage the staff education program
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of proven and successful fundraising experience is essential
- Solid understanding of basic fundraising principles
- Courses or a certificate in fundraising an asset
- Experience in health care fundraising would be an asset
- Good understanding of the development cycle
- Public presentation skills, able to perform in the "public arena”
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Organized, systematic; able to prioritize, schedule and perform complex tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to plan, initiate, manage, organize, execute and complete projects
- Flexible, ability to adapt to change and shifting priorities and to work simultaneously on a variety of complex projects with competing deadlines
- Maintains confidentiality; demonstrates sound judgment and discretion
- High customer service orientation
- Able to engage others in order to reach a common objective
- Personable, relates well to external stakeholders and is a positive, contributing team member

- Willing and able to work in the evenings and on weekends as required
- Demonstrated budget preparation and management experience
- Sound oral and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Internet and Outlook
- Solid experience with Raiser’s Edge
- Valid driver’s license
